Takeover Tuesday: Danielle Fielding
Let’s welcome the fun and fresh Danielle Fielding to takeover today. Danielle is a top plaintiff’s attorney for medical malpractice in Oklahoma City and co-owner of Martin & Fielding law firm. She’s energetic, optimistic, a great judge of character, and I admire how she balances the demands of being a good mom with taking care of business. In fact, I recently hired her to take care of a personal injury case for me which yielded great results! Danielle is definitely someone I’m lucky enough to call a friend in the local legal community and she definitely undersells her fashion sense because she always looks great. With that let me pass the mic to Danielle Fielding a trusted advisor both in the fashion world and the legal field.
Bloom with Grace
No color, no problem. If you frequent my blog, you know that I do not shy away from colors. Today, I want to change the tone, literally and figuratively and focus on nudes and neutrals. For those of us with melanin in our skin, neutrals can often be hard to work with as they often leave us looking washed out. Have no fear with the right accessories and the perfect background, you too can feel cool without color while you transition from winter to spring.
Tuesday Takeover: Monica Ybarra
Maz Mavens let me introduce you to the effervescent and elegant Monica Ybarra. I am lucky enough to have served on the OCU Law Alumni Association board with her as President for a couple of years and been able to witness her charisma, leadership ability, and style. Monica is a lawyer by profession—In house counsel at TBS Factoring Service, LLC, but among her peers she is most well-known for her ability to connect, her authenticity, her hard work ethic, and her ability to bring sunshine to the space she enters. She has a true sense of self in a way that exudes confidence, but not vanity. She loves to lift others up and does it with grace. When she’s not roaming around obscure parts of Oklahoma and Santa Fe with her fiancé, you’ll find she takes pride in representing the Latinx community in anyway she can. In fact, I often see hints of Latin representation in her unique, yet classic style that I describe as powerfully feminine. With that, it’s my pleasure to get some fashion ques from the always on point Monica Ybarra.
Blame it All On My Roots I Showed Up in Boots
This bi-polar Oklahoma weather has got me pulling out clothes from the fall to romp around town this Friday. These booties are too cute to keep on the shelf, white boots are very on trend, and well it’s Oklahoma so boots are pretty much always acceptable no matter the occasion.👢👢
Tuesday Takeover: Cynthia Tobar McCoy
It is an honor to introduce Cynthia Tobar McCoy to takeover this Tuesday. I met her as a young blossoming woman when she worked at the Latino Community Development Agency with my mother. Today, she is an accomplished Licensed Professional Counselor and founder of Emotional Wellness Counseling. I always admired her unique style, confidence, and independant way of looking at the world and I’m so excited to hear what she has to say about empowering yourself through fashion. With that let me pass the keyboard to the beautiful and insightful Cynthia Tobar McCoy.
Tuesday Takeover: Lindsey Johnson
Welcome the fiery and fierce Lindsey Johnson to takeover this Tuesday. Lindsey is a true boss mom of 3 boys from Oklahoma City, now relocated to Lubbock, Texas. As a busy working mom, she knows how to juggle the chaos of #momlife with the demands of professional life as an owner of a Chiropractic and Wellness business: Pure Health. Her dedicated work ethic and positive spirit have always been such an inspiration to me and other moms alike. She’s well known for being excellent at what she does and uplifting her patients to energize and enhance their body to become the best version of themselves. She is definitely living her best life and believes that to live well, you need to feel good which is clearly evidenced by her glowing skin and high energy level. And with that, handing over the mom boss baton to Lindsey Johnson to learn a little something about business casual spring fashion.
Outfit Inspo: Designing Women - The Perfect Outfit to Network In
I love to get inspiration where you least expect it. The ladies of Designing Women were well established in the 80s long before I had any fashion sense. But as you can see, influential women can make a mark that can last over a 40 year period, and their fashion seems to always make a comeback. This outfit and it’s big shoulder pads has me fitting in with my 80s gal pals ready to mix it up and mingle. And now that I’ve had my vaccine, let the networking begin.
Tuesday Takeover: Samara Terrill
Let me introduce you to someone who shines like the brightest star in the sky, one of my most friendly friends Samara Terrill. I’ve been fortunate enough to know her since high school when we both served as hostesses as Olive Garden and over the years watch her bloom into a mom of 2 boys and a Wealth Manager for Synergy Wealth Management. She’s as beautiful on the outside as she is on the inside and her happiness and positivism is infectious. Looking forward to learning a few fashion lessons from the sweet Samara Terrill this Tuesday Takeover.
Interview like a Boss: Tips for Making a Lasting Impression
At Mazaheri Law Firm, springtime means it’s time for me to conduct law clerk interviews for a summer clerk position. I remember being 2L and preparing my cover letter, resume, writing sample ahead of time just to make sure I made the right impression. For the interviewee, interviews can be anxiety filled and for the interviewer, they can take a turn, particularly if you lose control of the conversation. After years of interviewing new clerks that have later become great attorneys in the community and elsewhere, today going to share my experience and give both interviewers and interviewees a few tips.
Tuesday Takeover: Mary Rahimi
I am so excited to introduce “Disney Princess look-a-like” Mary Rahimi to Maz Modern. Along with being our firm’s newest associate attorney, she is co-author of an article for February’s Briefcase, “The Right to Bare Arms” and brings her fashion knowledge and a positive energy into the office that was much needed in the past year of pandemic times. With youth comes a fresh perspective that is consistently welcomed to refresh our environment and give us new ideas on how to reach the next generation. With lots of love, I pass the mic to Mary Rahimi.
