Embrace Your Inner Flamingo
Let’s talk about being different; standing out in a crowd. In my early youth I, like most that age, had a fear of being singled out because of my differences; a different last name, eating different foods at home than other children, and because my family was large and multilingual. I can’t pinpoint exactly when I overcame that fear, but I did, and it was early in my life. Those that don’t naturally fit in, or look or act like everyone else, learn early on that it is sometimes better to be different and they don’t have to act or be like anyone else. They learn to be proud of the things that make them stand out, embrace their differences, and are more resilient as adults. Those lessons, learned early on, help me to be a better lawyer and business owner.
