Tuesday Takeover: Cinthya Allen
If you know Cinthya Allen, you’ve likely not only noticed that she is ALWAYS “put together,” but you’ve likely felt the beauty and positivity that radiates from her. I am lucky enough to know Cinthya not only in her current role as Chief Diversity & Equity Officer at City of Norman, but as a Latino community leader, a retired folkloric dancer, an OU fan, and a mama of three. This working mama has found a practical and timeless way to make fashion for work her own, but what I admire in her most is her enduring faith, good nature, and natural beauty that shines through everything she does. With warmth, allow me to introduce Cinthya Allen’s style to Takeover Tuesday.
An alert on my phone comes through. Yay, it’s Katherine. She always has something exciting to share! Oh, wait. Me be a contributor to her MazModern blog? I’m a fan of her blog not just because of her amazing fashion and boss lady-mom-wife-women-we-got-this boost, but because I need the fashion inspiration too! She then calms my nerves with reassurance and straight talk – after all, it is Katherine we are talking about. Straight talk is always in order. She reminds me her blog is not just about fashion but about women, at all levels of the fashion game, from various disciplines, and backgrounds. With that, my nerves turned to excitement and out came a resounding yes!
A timeless piece is what I go for. I tend to balance the simplicity of the dress with fun and classy jewelry pieces.
That brings us to my shoes. I look for the right heel, not too short and not too tall. Listen, at 5”2, I’m all about a good heel! This one I am wearing happens to be 3 inches, which sounds tall. However, it is a wide cube heel design. I’m loving the wide heel trend and my feet appreciate it! The design is by Gianni Binni.
I am a woman, like you, with a great load of to-dos. All of the items I have shared today can be found at Dillard’s which makes fashion accessible and affordable when done right. I suggest you have pieces to mix and match. Most importantly, be sure to always be you. You make the dress, not the other way around!

I am so grateful to have great friends like Katherine. The past year taught us so many things. Certainly, the importance of relationships and their depth has been one of the strongest lessons. More important than a trusted dress is a trusted friend. Thank you for being a great inspiration to us all, Katherine, and thank you for this opportunity!
XOXO,
Cinthya Allen
